ACTJET
Australian Coalition for Transitional Justice in East Timor

ACTJET is an informal coalition of Australian organisations and individuals who share an interest in the post-conflict reconciliation process in East Timor (Timor-Leste) — in particular, the work of the CAVR (Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation) and the Serious Crimes process.

Our goals are to help achieve justice for the people of East Timor for past war crimes and crimes against humanity; to promote respect for human rights and the rule of law internationally; to encourage interest in issues related to transitional justice and reconciliation; and to improve the accountability of the Australian Government in respect of its dealings with East Timor around these issues.

ACTJET has no formal membership. It responds according to needs, with the input of its individual and organisational supporters. It is auspiced by Uniya Jesuit Social Justice Centre in Sydney. We work with like-minded organisations in East Timor and internationally.
